Roberto Ucero Lozano, PhD, is a physiotherapist, lecturer and researcher with 23 years of professional experience. He has worked in private practice for the past 20 years and has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in manual therapy and pelvic health, with the last ten years focus on hand therapy, pain management and active approaches including therapeutic exercise.

He currently combines his clinical work in private practice with teaching on the Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy, in both Spanish and French, at Universidad Europea. He obtained his Diploma in Physiotherapy in 2002 from Universidad de Alcalá, where he also completed the Official Master’s Degree in Manual Physiotherapy of the Locomotor System in 2012. Throughout his career he has focused on the management of patients with musculoskeletal pain, which led to his PhD thesis on pain and haemophilic arthropathy.

He is currently a member of the INHEFIS research group on Physiotherapy in Haemophilia, associated with the Asturias Health Research Institute (ISPA), where his work focuses on pain in people with haemophilia and other rare diseases and its management through manual therapy, virtual reality and other active strategies. In addition, he belongs to two research groups at Universidad Europea, Women & Health and Therapeutic Exercise and Functional Rehabilitation, addressing musculoskeletal disorders and pain in other populations through active rehabilitation.
